MADISON - Michael Robert "Mike" Baumgartner, age 59, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at UW Hospital and Clinics. He was born on Oct. 7, 1963, in Bismarck, N.D., the son of Robert Baumgartner and Evelyn (Kautzman) Baumgartner.
Michael graduated from Linton High School in North Dakota and Moorhead State University in Minnesota. He married Lana Miller Baumgartner on July 29, 1994, in Bismarck, N.D. Prior to his retirement in 2019, Mike worked as a director for Certco.
In his free time, Mike enjoyed model cars and especially loved Corvettes. However, the thing he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family.
Michael is survived by his wife, Lana; sons, Josh (Kiley) Baumgartner and Jordan (Kayla) Baumgartner; parents, Robert and Evelyn; brothers, Mark Baumgartner and Mitch Baumgartner; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023, with Monsignor Kevin Holmes presiding. Burial will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens.
