Obituary
FITCHBURG - Arthur L. Lewis, age 90, of Fitchburg, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, at UW Hospital and Clinics. He was born on Aug. 7, 1932, in Rolla, Mo., the son of Richard and Grace (Storr) Lewis.
Arthur graduated from Granite City High School in Granite City, Ill. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Arthur was united in marriage to June Cox on June 22, 1952, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He worked as an engineer for Boeing for 35 years, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed model ship and airplane building.
Arthur is survived by his wife, June; three sons, Jeffrey (Lori) Lewis, Bradley (Kiley) Lewis and David (Irene) Lewis; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Grace.
A remembrance service will be held at QUARRY RIDGE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY, 2851 Fitchrona Road, Fitchburg, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023.
