Obituary

MADISON - Ronald M. “Ron” Seely, age 87, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Oak Park Place. He was born on May 2, 1937, in Prairie du Chien, Wis., the only child of Milford and Margrurite (Bedward) Seely.


Ron graduated from Madison East High School in 1955. On May 9, 1959, he married the love of his life Sharon A. Frederickson in Spring Green. They were married for 65 years.


He worked full-time for the Wisconsin Air National Guard and his career spanned 33 years. He retired from the guard in 1988. He then worked an additional 10 years for Anchor Bank in Madison. In 2001, Ron and Sharon moved to Homosassa, Fla. and enjoyed their retirement years there. In 2022, he returned to Madison.


In his younger years Ron enjoyed playing softball, and in his later years he and Sharon enjoyed trips to the casino and spending time with family and friends. He was a lifelong member of the Elk’s Club and a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Madison.


Ronald is survived by his wife, Sharon; two aunts, cousins, and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.


A funeral service will be held at MESSIAH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5202 Cottage Grove Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.  Burial will take place at Big Hollow Cemetery, Spring Green, Wis. A visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
