Obituary

MADISON - Margery Ann “Marge” “Ann” Stoneman joined the Lord she loved so much on Saturday morning, Nov. 18, 2023. She was born on Sept. 27, 1932, in Madison, the daughter of Jess and Clara (Schmitz) Butler.


Margery attended St. James Grade School and Central High School. She was a Franciscan Sister for 20 years teaching in the rural Green Bay area, then worked as a secretary/dispatcher for the City of Madison Traffic Engineering for many years.


Margery is survived by her husband, Tom “Stoney;” sister, Nancy Smith; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Gordon Butler, Donald Butler, Mary Harrison, and Thedore Butler.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at GOOD SHEPHERD PARISH AT THE ST. JAMES CHURCH, 1128 St. James Ct., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 27, 2023. A luncheon to follow at church. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Monday.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margery’s name to Agrace HospiceCare.
