Obituary

PORTAGE - Neil Edward Ketterer passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023, after a brief illness. Neil graduated from Madison Central High School, class of 1966. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America and achieved the level of Eagle Scout.  Neil volunteered with McFarland EMS for 10 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking. Neil loved music and enjoyed playing in various bands over the years.


Neil is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy (Starch) Ketterer; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Deanne Ketterer; granddaughter, Amanda Ketterer; sister-in-law, Kaye; nephew, Ben (Julia); niece, Sobha (Trevor); and great-nieces, Elena and Eloisa. Neil is further survived by Nancy’s extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Armand Frederick and Mabel Anne (Bushnell) Ketterer; son, Brian Ketterer; and brother, Paul Ketterer.

Neil was one of the best people I've ever known. Mose Bodo was at it's peak when he played with us. I have missed seeing him and laughing with him. The music shared in eternal peace has improved. I can only hope to be there with you if I make it. Love and condolences to Nancy and Keith and family.
