SHARON - Jacalyn Ann Fischer, age 71, of Sharon, Wisc., passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023, at UW Hospital and Clinics. She fought a hard battle against cancer for 10 months prior to her passing. She was born on Dec. 4, 1951, in Grandhaven, Mich., the daughter of Gordon and Cora (Larimer) VanderWall.
Jackie graduated from Michigan School for the Deaf. As a young lady, she enjoyed playing softball at the Deaf Sport Event in Michigan. She met the love of her life, Michael Fisher, at the Deaf Snowmobile Event in Michigan. They were united in marriage on Oct. 9, 1982, in Edwardsburg, Mich.
Jackie was a proud member of Southern Lakes Association of the Deaf and Deaf Picnic’s Club. She enjoyed bowling, taking trips with her sister, Vicky, and camping in Michigan to see her family. Jackie loved to clean and organize and have things in their place. She adored everything dolphins and even selected her own urn with dolphins on it.
Jackie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Michael; children, Ruben Grumm, Donella "DeeDee" (David) McKee and Peter Fischer; grandchildren, Randy and Ashley Veihl, Travis Badura and Tristan Fischer; sister, Vicky VanderWall; brothers, Dan (Margaret) VanderWall and Tom (Jill) VanderWall. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Cora; son, Bobby Grumm Jr.; and sister, Barb VanderWall.
In keeping with Jackie's wishes, no services will be held.
