Obituary

MCFARLAND - Patti Hornes passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at home. She was born in Madison, on Oct. 25, 1964, the daughter of Roy and Janis (Orvold) Hehn.


Patti graduated from Sun Prairie High school in 1982. She enjoyed working at Kwik Trip and cherished the friendships she made there.


Patti had a wonderful sense of humor, loved telling jokes and had a contagious laugh. She was creative, kind and caring. Patti loved her son, Nick, unconditionally. He was the center of her world. She adored her dogs, Bailee, Lindy, Bear, Reggie and Lucky. Patti loved spending time with her family and was an amazing cook, cabbage rolls being a favorite. She was great at carrying on the family tradition of making Koompa and lefse.  


Patti is survived by her son, Nicholas Hornes (Stephanie Blaser); sisters, Connie Swenson, Judy (Dennis) Sauey, Bev (Rich) Zamastil and Joanne (John) Bushman; brother, Jeff (Rhoda) Hehn; and former husband, Craig Hornes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Janis; and brother-in-law, Jim Swenson.


A private family service will be held. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

This is sad and shocking. Pay and I lost touch, but were coworkers and friends for many years. I'm sure many will miss her laugh. P.s. Nick, you were your mom's gift from God and she just became a better version of herself because of you. "NICHOLAS" we the center of every work conversation since the day you were born.

My favorite memory of Patti is going to a Heart concert with her many years ago! She was so much fun! I saw her many times around McFarland. I will miss her hearty laugh.
