I worked with Herman at Thorstad late 70s early 80s. I was just a snot covered kid all of 19. The photo you have of him is perfect because I remember him always smiling. Sorry for your loss.

I met Mr Franklin six plus years ago in Madison outside of camp Randell stadium. We met during a verbal Confrontation. I consider my self on being a very professional man that always think before I start a project. That particular day I met my match when I encountered Mr Franklin. I'm a metro bus operator and I was instructed per my run to park in a location in front of camp Randell before I start my run Mr Franklin thought otherwise and definitely wanted to share his thoughts with me. And me being who I am, I'm going to take time to educate Mr Franklin. Well Mr Franklin let me know quickly he's the one doing all the educating that day. I remember hearing his voice and it immediately sounded like the older men in my family. I politely told mr Franklin. NO PROBLEM SIR! put the metro bus in gear and move it it in another safe location. Mr Franklin and I would see each other from time to time when I worked that area. Mr Franklin Is a genuine real man that we need more of in this world that's the message I received from him and it was a pleasure to have met him. Later I found out through my coworker and my friend which we share the same birthday January 15th. Anthony Franklin that Mr Franklin is his father. We laugh at the story often. I can definitely tell that's his dad .he comes from good stock! Rest in peace Mr Franklin
