Obituary

MADISON - Cynthia Lynn “Cindy” Weege passed peacefully into eternal life on Sunday, April 23, 2023, with her family at her side. She was born in Darwin, California to Randy and Pat (Telford) Weege on August 18, 1955, and grew up in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Cindy graduated from Calumet High School with the class of 1973.  She earned her RN in Nursing in two years at Lake Superior State University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Michigan.  Cindy was dedicated to her career and the families she served in Intensive Care or Dialysis at the University of Michigan Hospital, Highland Park (IL) Hospital, Northwestern University Hospital, University of Wisconsin Hospital, Meriter, and St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.  She also worked for AVL Blood Gas Systems, Curtis Ambulance, and the Red Cross.

Cindy was adventurous, spontaneous, and independent.  She loved her pets, music, fashion, shopping, and giving gifts to her family and friends.  Cindy also enjoyed tropical trips to Cancun and Hawaii, and skiing in Killington, Vermont.  She remained a loyal Michigan Wolverine football fan throughout her life.  She enjoyed her wonderful neighbors and was a great supporter of Madison's Northside.  Cindy loved spoiling her two nephews with slumber parties, movies, and treats, and was extremely proud of all their accomplishments, as they grew to be “such fine young men”.  Cindy’s faith enabled her to conquer many challenges in her life.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Randall and Patricia Weege; grandparents, Elmer and Bessie Weege, and Herb and Ruby Telford; and special uncle, Franklin Deimer.

Cindy is survived by her sisters, Annie and Kassie; brother-in-law, Paul Fugere; her nephews and new nieces, Andre (Michaela) Fugere, and Joel (Courtney) Fugere; cousins and friends.

Cindy’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for their exceptional care.

A service will be held at a later date to honor Cindy’s life.

Until we meet again, Cindy, may God’s love keep us close.

Kassie, Ann, and nephews - - I was so sorry to hear of Cindy's passing, and know the heart ache that you all must be going through. She and I were in touch for a period of time some 4-5 years ago due to her interest in genealogy, and I know of the poor health that she was going through at that time. Please let me know when there will be a celebration of life so that I can pass it on to the Telford cousins. Our hearts are with you. Sue Westergaard lacealitfarm@airnetisp.com or 715 675-6092. Thanks for letting Norm know so that he could pass the information along to the rest of the family.

To Cindy's family, The obit was beautifully written, capturing Cindy's wonderful spirit. We were fortunate to live next door to Cindy for 17 years. She looked after us and our pets. Anytime we tried to return the favor she gave back 10 fold. We miss her soooo much. And so does our dog. Seriously, Fergie is wondering when Aunt Bacon is going to slip her some treats over the fence. It just breaks my heart that Cindy was taken from us so soon. Best Regards, Beth
