Donald Leo Soehle

GRAND MARSH - Donald Soehle, of Grand Marsh, Wis., or as his family knew him, “Papa,” left this earth on Friday, March 31, 2023. He was born on Aug. 13, 1941, in Cottage Grove, Wis., the son of Donald and Connie (Skolaski) Soehle.  In his younger years, he and his brother, Jim, attended East High School, where Don met his sweetheart, Judith Riddle (Griffin).

Papa’s spirit will live on through his beloved daughters, Lori Tabaska and Lexi Soehle; his three beloved granddaughters, Alexis Soehle and Ashley and Melissa Tabaska; as well as his sister-in-law, Gayle Soehle.

For 34 years he worked at Oscar Mayer, eventually retiring at the age of 52 to spend the rest of his days in the Wisconsin Wilderness. He spent his final years doing what he loved; boating, watching wildlife, deer hunting, and singing to his favorite Elvis and Grease movies. He loved telling stories and jokes around the campfire. He was an avid supporter of Wisconsin sports teams and a generous man, donating to multiple charities. Don was the calm in the storm. He was a proud man who knew how to put a smile on all those around him.

A Celebration of Don’s life will be held at a later date.
