Obituary
Madison - Warren D. Meyer, age 84, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on Nov. 9, 1938, in Valparaiso, Ind., the son of Alvin Meyer and Ruby (Reimers) Meyer.
Warren graduated from Wheeler High School in Indiana. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961-1965. He married Diane (Rhode) Meyer on June 20, 1964. Prior to retirement, Warren worked as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Madison for over 40 years, something he was very proud of. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Club.
In his free time, Warren enjoyed playing bingo. He was also an avid sports fan - especially the Badgers, Packers and Brewers. He loved spending family time together and was actively involved in watching the kids’ sporting events. He also enjoyed spending time socializing with his friends, especially David Haas.
Warren is survived by his daughter, Tina (Kenneth) Young; son, Terry (Amanda) Meyer; five grandchildren, Stephen Meyer, Larry Meyer, Shanelle Meyer, Mackenzie Kilbride, and Gabriella Young; two great-grandchildren, Lillian Meyer and Raedyn Meyer; and three brothers, Gene (Diana) Meyer, Eddie Meyer, and Donnie Meyer. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Diane Ora Meyer; grandchild, Logan Jones; brother, Alvin (Wilma) Meyer; and sisters-in-law, Deanna Meyer and Arlene Meyer.
A funeral service will be held at Gunderson East Funeral AND Cremation Care, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12 noon on Monday, March 27, 2023. Burial with Military Honors will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. A celebration of life, along with lunch will be provided at The Eagles Club, 2109 Bartillon Drive, Madison, will immediately follow the entombment.
