Obituary

LODI - Jeanne Tomlin, age 70, of Lodi, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at New Perspective Senior Living in Sun Prairie, WI.

She was born on December 5, 1952, in Durham, North Carolina, the daughter of Howard and Nannie Lou (Kerns) Bounds. Jeanne graduated from Smithdeal Massey Business College in Richmond, VA with a degree in Public Relations.

Jeanne started out in the working world as a model and was featured on the cover of many Richmond Lifestyle magazines, runway shows and local advertisements. Her career then moved into Public Relations with the Federal Reserve Bank in Richmond, VA. After Erin was born, she dedicated her life to raising her and Erin’s many friends that in turn became her other daughters.

Jeanne was an excellent cook and introduced many classic southern dishes to her Wisconsin friends. She also brought her favorite southern traditions of Carolina Beach music, shag dancing, grits and iced tea. She had a big heart for animals and loved her cats - Ari, Sophie, Toby and Liam - immensely. She volunteered her time at schools, spent many years in the church choir, and could light up a room with her smile.

Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Erin (Cole) Wilson; stepson, Thomas Tomlin; four grandchildren, Brooks Wilson, Vivian Wilson, Eu nah Tomlin, and Calvin Tomlin; mother, Nannie Lou Bounds; brother, Howard Bounds III; and sister, Nancy (Chuck) Floyd and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard V. Bounds Jr.

In honoring Jeanne’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.

Jeanne always welcomed me with open arms at her home on Timber Ln. I basically lived there my last two years of high school. She was easy to talk to and always listened to what I had to say, even during my emo-phase. She made the most delicious chicken cups & made sure the kitchen was fully stocked with snacks. She was truly an amazing, hilarious, & kind woman. I will always remember her smile & good humor. We will miss you Jeanne. Love always & forever, Margaux

Jeanne was a good friend when we went through our high school education in Roanoke Rapids, NC. At a high school reunion we both attended, we laughed a lot remembering “remember when” moments about our escapades. Jeanne had a good heart. Frank Hayes
