Obituary
MCFARLAND - Gregory “Greg” Spaeni, age 50, of McFarland, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023. He was born on May 29, 1972, in Madison, the son of Ted Spaeni and Katherine (Nelson) Skaife.
Greg graduated from McFarland High School in 1990. He was a hard worker and loved owning and operating his own welding shop, G&H Custom Welding and Fabrication. He enjoyed his job and being at the shop.
Greg loved spending time with his family, especially his daughter, Ayden. She was his pride and joy and he was beyond proud of her. Greg had a great sense of humor and was always making people laugh. He enjoyed weightlifting, riding motorcyles and racing. He had a need for speed. He enjoyed sponsoring the driver of "Stupid Fast Racing” and was a fan of MMA, UFC (fighting), and wrestling.
Greg is survived by his daughter, Ayden Spaeni; Ayden’s Mother, Melissa Brewer; mother, Katherine; fiancée, Helen Williams; and canine companions, Mugsey and Jeffrey. He was preceded in death by father, Ted; and brother, Jeffrey Spaeni.
A memorial gathering will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023. A celebration of Greg’s life will immediately follow at REVEREND JIM’S ROADHOUSE, 6402 Millpond Road, Madison, on Saturday. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
