John D. Deering

John was one of my training officers when I started on patrol in 2003. I remember he was always patient with me, even when I didn't deserve it. I always appreciated the way he was respectful of everyone we interacted with, no matter where they were in life. From the time I started at UWPD until John retired (and after) I felt like I was always learning something from him.

John was a ray of sunshine on an overcast day. I worked with him for several years. He always treated me with respect and support and never had a bad word. He was the exception to the rule. I'm very saddened to hear of John's untimely death. He was a very good man.

John was a caring and friendly neighbor. He ( along w his brother) also put on one heck of a 4th of July celebration! You will be missed John.

John has made a difference in so many lives. A grand career. A wonderful person. Sending his wife, children, siblings and parents love and prayers. Wishing you will find comfort with each other. With the deepest sympathy, Cyndi and Gerhard Banfi
