FITCHBURG - Mary Gerard (Sullivan) Kolberg, age 70, of Fitchburg, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on July 4, 1952, in Madison, the daughter of John R. and Agnes (Hogan) Sullivan.
Mary graduated from St. Mary’s Nursing School. She married Paul W. Kolberg on May 5, 1984, in Madison, Wis. Mary worked as a registered nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital for over 43 years, 39 years were spent working the overnight shift.
Mary enjoyed watching the cooking channel and PBS. She loved talking to her family especially with her sister, Jane, and niece, Erica. Mary was a true woman of God and had a passion for Jesus. She loved her church, Mount Olive Lutheran.
Mary is survived by her brother, Patrick (Eva) Sullivan of Wichita Falls, Texas; sister, Jane Sullivan (Roger) Spinks of Borger, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; brother, John Sullivan; and sisters, Nan Wright and Sue Sullivan.
A celebration of life will be held at MOUNT OLIVE LUTHERAN CHRUCH, 110 N. Whitney Way, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023. A visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park.
