Obituary
STOUGHTON - Marvis Mae Westbury, age 86, of Stoughton, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Nazareth Health and Rehab. She was born on May 22, 1936, in Ellendale, N.D., the daughter of Lynol and Maxine (Rapp) Allen.
Marvis married Richard “Dick” Westbury on Oct. 25, 1952. She worked for many years as a banquet waitress at the Holiday Inn and Quality Inn in Madison. Marvis was active in activities at Nazareth. She loved delivering menus and playing Euchre with her partner, Gerry. She loved the sunshine and dogs. She especially enjoyed sitting out front giving treats to dogs walking by and feeding the birds.
Marvis is survived by her children, Marie Squires, John (Lori), Ed, Rich and Lori (Roger) Hatlen; grandchildren, Jenifer, Bryan, Garrett, Sarah, Jason, Matthew, Marissa, Rosalyn and Robert; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry Allen, Michael Allen and Marilyn Guess; and special friend and partner in shenanigans at Nazareth, Gerry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maxine and Lynol Allen; brother, Dennis Allen; husband, Richard Westbury; son-in-law, Robin Squires; and grandson, Nicholas Westbury.
A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Highway 51 N. at Jackson St., Stoughton from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023.
A graveside service will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 2:45 p.m. on Friday.
Memorials may be made to the family where donations will be gifted in Marvis’ name to Nazareth Health and Rehab, Agrace HospiceCare and animal shelters.
