Obituary

BLUE MOUNDS - Hannah Alberts, age 25, of Blue Mounds, lost her battle with mental health on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023. She was born on Oct. 3, 1997, in Platteville, Wis., the daughter of David and Danielle (Talley) Alberts.


Hannah graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 2016, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and from the UW-Madison in 2021 with a major in Zoology.  Hannah loved volunteering at the Iowa County Humane Society and with the Department of Natural Resources. She greatly enjoyed her internship at the Dane County Humane Society’s Wildlife Center.


Hannah was a very beautiful and very special woman who touched many people’s lives with tremendous kindness, care, compassion and genuine love. Many would say that Hannah was too kind for this world. She had a passion for animals and wildlife, especially birds. She enjoyed art, most notably drawing and photography. She liked playing video games, spending time with her pets, and being in nature.


Hannah is survived by her parents; three sisters, Sophie Alberts, Gracie Alberts and Maggie Alberts; grandfather, Roger Alberts; uncle, Jimmy (Jen) Talley; aunt, Jen (Rob) Figus; four cousins, Josh Figus, Tristan Figus, Devin Talley and Beckam Talley; and special friend, Jen Holman. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Barbara Alberts; and grandfather, James Talley.

A celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 500 N. Eighth St., Mount Horeb, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

My fondest memory of Hannah is when she, Liam, and I went on a long hike in Blue Mounds state park. You could see that she really enjoyed nature. I wish we could have done that more often. I will miss her kindness.

I have many treasured memories of Hannah. Searching for four-leaf clovers at recess, holding hands as we walked laps in gym, how she'd share the last of her Pepsi with me at lunch, our field trips and classes and the art projects we worked on together. More recently, getting her recommendations on tea blends at Telsaan and checking in on each other's lives after so long since school. My favorite memories, however, are of the times we spent at her house, goofing off and playing games. One in particular she shared with me, Scribblenauts, became a favorite of mine- and I feel it perfectly exemplifies her creativity, joy, and kindness. She and her family were so very welcoming to me, and I wish the Alberts much love.
