Obituary

MADISON - David Jan Mousley, age 58, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023.  He was surrounded by family when he lost his battle while waiting for a heart transplant.  He was born on April 22, 1964, in Elgin, Ill., the son of Jan and Sharon (Stark) Mousley.


Dave graduated from Larkin High School in Elgin, Ill.  He married Pamela (Krause) Mousley on Sept. 7, 1985, in Madison. He obtained his Electronics Associates Degree in 1984.  He started his career with the U.S. Postal Service as an electronic technician in 2000 and was planning to retire in 2024.


Dave enjoyed golfing and swimming.  He also loved to travel.  Some of his favorite destinations included Florida, Hawaii and visiting his dad in North Carolina.  He was the king of dad jokes and could always make people laugh.  A few of his favorite hobbies were cheering on the Chicago Bears and completing DIY projects, where he was always willing to share his expertise and help others at the drop of a hat.  To anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Dave, knew he was the most patient and kind person there was.


Dave is survived by his wife, Pam; children, Tricia (Corey) Brabender, Jeff Mousley and Shary (Rodney Saunders Jr.) Pearson; and grandchildren, Evan and Eli (Tricia), Payton, Hailey, Jaxon (Jeff), and Alaina (Shary). He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Mousley.

A celebration of life will be held on April 22, 2023, at BOWL-A-VARD LANES, 2121 E Springs Drive, Madison. Friends and family are welcome anytime between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

I grew up with David spending countless days of swimming, fishing, baseball, and just being kids! His mom and dad were awesome and I am sure Dave was a great father as well. My deepest condolences to all of his family and friends! REGISTER TO BE AN ORGAN DONOR IN HIS HONOR!!!

David was a great cousin and friend. The endless fun we had with Dave's G.I.Joe's the 12'' ones, not those little ones kids have now a days and his endless stock of hot wheel cars. Then, Dave was able to drive - "look out world here we come!" We would frequent 7-11 quite often at late hours of the night for orange sherbet and Oreo cookies then he'd make me laugh til I got sick and went to bed. I know he had to be a fun family man as well. I'm glad I had the chance to know Dave and he will be missed.
