COTTAGE GROVE - David Duane Dyer, age 61, of Cottage Grove, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, March 2, 2023. He was born on Aug. 28, 1961, in Madison, the son of Larry Dyer and Barbara (Farr) Neumiller.


David graduated from La Follette High School in 1979 and participated with the Madison Drum Corps from April 1975 until August 1977.  He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from March 2003 until March of 2006.


David worked as an x-ray technician for Edgerton Hospital for 14 years. He was a “karaoke whore” and a huge fan of the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and all Badgers sports.


David is survived by his partner, Bobbi Leen; daughters, Natasha (Mitch) Rundle and Tanya (Van) Eno; son, Cory Dyer and family; three grandchildren, Athena Rundle, Alex Rundle and Emma Eno; parents, Larry (Anna) and Barbara; and brother, Michael (Angie) Dyer; Bobbi’s daughters, Melissa (Darren) Smedema and Michelle (Ray) McBride. He was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Dyer; and stepfather, Phil Neumiller.


A celebration of life will be held at TOWER INN, 1008 E. Broadway, Monona, Wis., from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023.


In lieu of flowers, memorials to DAV (Disabled American Veterans), PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250 would be greatly appreciated by the family. Dave's family would like to extend a special thank you to his oncologist Dr. Justine Bruce, Infusion Center at the VA, and Agrace HospiceCare for the kind and compassionate care they gave him.


God saw that he was sick and a cure was not to be;

So he put His arms around him

and whispered “Come with Me”;

With tearful eyes we watched him

suffer and saw him fade away

Although we loved him dearly,

we could not make him stay

A golden heart stopped beating,

hard working hands to rest;

God broke our hearts to prove to us,

He only takes the best.

Sing to the Heavens for the rest of Eternity.

My husband was stationed at Ft. Sam Houston at the same time as Dave. They both worked in radiology at the Army Hospital. We immediately became great friends with Dave & Nancy and spent a lot of time with them…so many great memories. Several years ago, Bobbi & Dave came to Nashville and we were able to visit with them. Picked up like no time had passed….like we had seen each other just yesterday instead of years earlier! RIP sweet friend! Joe & Barb Knuutila
