MADISON - Joy Madeline Kolodziejczyk, age 47, of Madison, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, following an accident at home.
Joy was born on Sept. 27, 1975, in Ontario, Canada, the daughter of David Kolodziejczyk and Sharon O'Connor-Kolodziejczyk. She grew up in Ypsilanti, Mich., graduated from Ypsilanti High School with honors and attended Concordia College in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Joy was a wonderful, loving person. She lived and worked in various cities throughout her life but was happiest when she moved to Madison, Wis. This is where she met the love of her life, David Zemlicka, and his family became her family.
Joy is survived by her partner, David Zemlicka; his mother, Jane Zemlicka; his sister, Jennifer (Chris) Canty and their children, Lincoln and Marlowe; her father, David Kolodziejczyk; uncle, Tom O'Connor; aunts, Caroline O'Connor and Julie O'Connor; and special cousins, Zach O'Connor, Brendan O’Connor, and Patrick Tew. She was preceded in death by David's father, Jim Zemlicka; her mother, Sharon O'Connor-Kolodziejezyk; and uncles, Michael P. O'Connor and Rod (Robert) O'Connor.
