Obituary

MADISON - Linda Kitelinger, age 54, of Madison, passed away on Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, at UW Hospital and Clinics. She was born on July 31, 1968, in Madison, the daughter of LaVern and Waunita (Millard) Kitelinger.


Linda graduated from Madison East High School in 1986 and from MATC- Madison.  She worked as a day care teacher for over 30 years and enjoyed caring for young adolescents.


Linda’s pride and joy was her dog, Zelly, and they spent 11 wonderful years together. Linda loved gambling and bowling with family and friends.


Linda is survived by her sisters, Dawn (David) Warner and Carol (Michael Anderson) Kitelinger; beloved dog, Zelly; fiancé, Micheal Scheu; nieces, Chelsey Warner and Marissa Anderson; great-nephew, Aiden Lightfoot; and great-niece, Aiyana Warner. She was preceded in death by her parents.


A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27, 2023. A graveside service will take place at HIGHLAND MEMORY GARDENS, 3054 County Highway BB, Cottage Grove, at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27, 2023.

Linda was a very strong person. I respected her greatly. She struggled with all kinds of health issues and yet she would do for others daily. I will miss her friendship. She will always be on my mind. No you can rest Linda. Love Buck

I knew Linda from when she worked at the daycare at St. Matthews Church on Dempsey Road. My girls (Melanie and Melissa Duane) adored her. She was wonderful with kids and a very sweet lady. Our sympathy goes out to Linda's family. Pam Jacobs
