Arthur "Art" Joseph Kriz

MIDDLETON - Arthur Joseph Kriz, age 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at St. Mary's Care Center in Fitchburg, Wis. Born on December 22, 1946, in Brooklyn, N.Y., Arthur was the beloved son of John and Stella (Barczak) Kriz.

In 1950, the family moved to Maspeth, Queens, where Arthur spent his formative years. A gifted student, he graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School in 1964 and earned his degree in electrical engineering from the New York University Polytechnic Institute of New York in 1968.

Arthur began his career at General Electric in Pittsfield, Mass., and later served as an electrical engineer for the U.S. Department of the Navy in Patuxent River, Md. Despite facing chronic health challenges throughout his life, Arthur remained deeply cherished by his family and friends for his quiet strength and enduring kindness.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, John and Stella. He is survived by his brother, Dr. Robert Kriz (Linda); and his nieces and nephews, Karyn, John, Laura and Joseph.

A private Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 602 Everglade Drive, Madison, at 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that Mass offerings be made in Arthur's name at St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
