Sarah Ann Gleiss

I loved when Sarah and I would laugh at the most random jokes. She was a close sister to me and she was kind to everyone. She would always encourage me and tell me to never give up. She was such a sweet friend.💝

I wish I had more photos of Sarah but she was the highlight of my work days. You know that one coworker that makes you excited to go to work? That was Sarah for me. She would make any day better with her laugh and dad jokes.

I met Sarah at GameStop when I lived in Wisconsin. She was the sweetest soul and so kind hearted. I would make a habit to visit her just so we could experience her energy. She moved to Madison and we did not get to speak much after that , but she will forever be in my thoughts. She was too good for this world. Rest in paradise

The world has lost an incredible life. Sarah was an amazing person and made us laugh whenever we talked to her. Her smile was so beautiful. She has made such a huge impact on our family. You have our sincere condolences and our unending love. The Janssen family

My first memories of Sarah were playing together with our friends in grade school, this was something we remembered much later on as we spent time recollecting our childhood. This was about 7 or 8 years since we reconnected, when she became my best friend. My favorite thing about Sarah is how strongly she felt emotions. She cried a lot, pretty much when she felt anything from happy to sad to angry. She always hated it, but I loved it so much about her. She was so, so talented, poured her whole heart and devotion into any random project she picked up. She was a beautiful singer, I always loved hearing her sing when she got ready for work, or just at random. She was so smart, picked up on anything she was taught so quickly, and never gave up. She was incredibly stubborn like that, like when I lost my nose ring at her house when we first started dating, and she refused to give up on finding it, even when I insisted it was okay. Ultimately, she never stopped caring about others, and she cared deeply. She always had your back and would drop anything to help you. One time she gave a homeless man a $20 bill so he could get home and to get food, I still don't know anyone who would do that. She said, "he needed it more than me." And that was her, she always thought about others before herself. She will be forever missed, and the wound will always hurt, but more importantly, we have so many fond memories of her. She will forever live on in us all. You've been my best friend for years, I'll always love and miss you.

I met Sarah Gleiss when I was 15 in 2007. It's been a long time. Sarah was always nice and kind. She had honor and respect. She was always polite and had great manners. She was a lady with principles. She was rooted in her beliefs. She was strong willed and compassionate. There were so much great characteristics about her. She always had her own fashion that was unique to her. She was beautiful. She loved music. She loved her parents and pets. Sarah was always nice. She was always quick to call out the wrong. Since I've known her, the words we use are "Hey, that's not nice" whenever we see something unfair or unjust. To this day I still use those words. Whenever they come from my mouth, it's because Sarah instilled those words in me. Sarah G-Unit. That was her MySpace username when we first met. I am glad to call you a friend in this life. I remember seeing you and your father in his red vintage car driving down the street. The walks with Charlie. Playing "The Floor is Lava" at Roosevelt School. We used to stay up late into the night staring at the stars, talking deep talks at the Roosevelt school playground. We went from MySpace, Facebook, to Tumblr. All those stages at the height of their peak. Going to see Batman: The Dark Knight Rises and Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows Part 2 on opening night was so fun. Watching the end of those movies was so epic for us. We used to talk about music, of how we wanted to start a band in my garage. You covered VersaEmerge's Clocks and we got a reply from the band. You later started a band and your first show sold out at Rock Island Cafe. That was the music spot for local bands at the time and your band was the only one to ever sell out and have the place jam packed. Later on I joined your band, A Study in Scarlet, but there was another band with our name, so we changed ours to Ceruleana. Our first show together. Taking band pictures in the forest and at High Cliff. The songs you sang are still my favorites today. Thanks for the memories and everything. You'll always be a part of my heart.
