MOUNT HOREB - Matthew T. “Matt” Milas, age 45, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, Feb. 10, 2023. He was born on July 28,1977, in Eau Claire, Wis., to Timothy and Jennifer (Wadzinski) Milas.
Matt loved to laugh and climb everything. He enjoyed being outdoors swimming, riding motor bikes, hunting, fishing and camping. His greatest joy was his son, Hunter, and he loved continuing family traditions with him, especially his family’s annual camping trip to Lake Arbutus with many uncles, aunts and cousins. His favorite place was in his boat, fishing with his son (Hunter), his father (Tim) and brother-in-law (Coop).
Matt’s enjoyment of the outdoors led him to many years as a landscaper. He shared his talents for “mowing and growing” with his family and friends. From helping in the garden, growing sunflowers and feeding the harvested seeds to the birds; he helped grow and nurture his son’s green thumb and love of animals.
Matt is survived by his parents; his sister, Noel (Dale “Coop”) Schlimgen; his son, Hunter Milas; and bonus daughter, Memphis Lux. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Louise Milas and Frank and Viola Wadzinski.
A prayer service will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO MOUNT HOREB FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 500 N. Eighth St., Mount Horeb, at 12 Noon on Saturday, March 18, 2023, with Father Chahm Gahng presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday, March 18, 2023. The family would like to request that you wear casual attire.
