Obituary
MONROE - Donald W. “Don” Judd, age 66, of Monroe, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Madison on Oct. 11, 1956, to Ralph and Norma (Urdahl) Judd, Don was the cherished husband of Debra (Purves) Judd, whom he married in 2014.
Family was always a top priority for Don, and he cherished spending time with his wife, Debra; sons, Scott (Lisa) Judd and Kyle (Madeline) Judd; stepdaughters, Angela Roisum and Heather (Jeremy) Evans; and 11 grandchildren. Don also leaves behind his siblings, Russ (Janet) Judd, Dick (Nora) Judd and Barbara Hartlaub; brother-in-law, Lenard (Donna) Purves; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his love for his family, Don's faith was of great importance to him. He recently began attending the Monroe Bible Church where he enjoyed hearing the word of God. Most recently, he and wife, Deb, made the move to Green County where they built the retirement home of his dreams. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, such as spending time at ‘the land,’ mowing the grass and sitting by the stream. He also enjoyed camping in the RV and riding his motorcycle. He spent his last months enjoying the serenity, peace and view of the land he so cherished.
Don lived a full life. As a bus driver for Madison Metro for over 20 years, and a barber before that, he was known for his social nature, kindness, and ability to make fast friends with anyone he met. In his earlier years, he had a passion for physical fitness, playing football, softball and basketball. A gentle giant, Don will always be remembered for the abundance of love he gave to the world and those around him.
A visitation for Don will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20, 2023.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Mark Hartlaub. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
