MADISON - John Edward "Jack“ Warczak, 88, born November 27, 1936, son of Edward and Adeline (Hansen) Warczak, died peacefully at Agrace HospiceCare in Madison, Wis., on Friday, September 5, 2025. He was raised in Wauzeka, Wis., and lived for more than 60 years in Monona, Wis.
Jack served in the U.S. Army for three years, starting in 1955, following graduation from Wauzekå High School, before marrying his beloved wife, Sally, with whom he raised their five children. He retired after 37 years working at Certco, Inc., Madison, Wis., and enjoyed trips with his family "back home" to Crawford County where he'd take the kids fishing in the Mississippi, Wisconsin and Kickapoo Rivers. In places like Turtle Lake, Wis., Jack would quickly cash in the slot machine coins on each of Sally's jackpots while all the bells were still ringing!
Jack enjoyed his time at home chasing squirrels, chipmunks and ants, raking his neighbors' leaves, keeping his lawn perfectly manicured, reading several newspapers, and watching some soaps along with the weather, the Packers and Badgers sports. He amassed a prized collection of baseball cards for decades, often given to him as gifts from the kids. His door was always open for one of the family or neighbors to stop in.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Robert "Bob" Warczak; his wife, Sally; and his son, Anthony "Tony" Warczak. He is survived by his brother, James "Jim" Warczak; and his children, Al (Gretchen) Warczak, John (Anne) Warczak, Todd (Kathy) Warczak and Sandy (Dave) Yaeger; grandchildren. Brandon, Tyler, Amber, Samantha and Stace; and great-grandchildren, Oshiana Joy, Acacia Artaska and Wyatt Anthony.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025. A graveside service will be held at WAUZEKA CEMETERY, Wauzeka, Wis., at 12 noon on Saturday October 25, 2025, followed by a luncheon at the Century Hall in Wauzeka.
