Obituary
OREGON - Gregory Charles “Bud” Frye, of Oregon, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 10, 2023, after a courageous battle with glioblastoma. He was born on Jan. 29, 1952, the son of Earl and Alvina Frye.
Greg graduated from Oregon High School and completed an associate degree from Madison College. Greg was united in marriage to Catherine Price on Sept. 12, 2002, in Maui, Hawaii. He worked for many years at Oregon Bowl and Mid Central Electric, where he retired in 2021. Greg was inducted into the Madison Bowling Hall of Fame on Aug. 14, 2003. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 151 F. & A.M.
Greg enjoyed bowling, traveling, car shows, camping and working on his show cars.
Greg is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Catherine; stepchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Helm and David (Jennifer) Murphy; and grandchildren, Caitlyn Helm and Grayson and Vaughn Murphy. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
We thank his family and friends for their love and support throughout Greg’s hospitalization and home care. We would also like to thank the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and Bristol Hospice for their excellent care.
Greg will be always on our minds and forever in our hearts.
In honor of Greg’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 700 County Road B, Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023. A luncheon at the church will follow the service.
