Obituary

OREGON - Aaron C. Greim passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, in Oregon Wis. Originally from Bloomington, Ind., Aaron was born on Nov. 7, 1974, to Betty Halstead (Greim) and Jon Greim. A 1993 graduate of Bloomington High School South, Aaron earned a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science at Indiana University. A talented programmer, Aaron spent his career working for CACI, Crane Naval Base and while at Crane, Aaron received his master's degree in Business. Most recently Aaron worked for Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Through the years, Aaron was recognized numerous times for outstanding work.

When Aaron wasn't working, he enjoyed listening to classic rock music, watching IU basketball, or watching movies, many of which he could quote easily. Perhaps his favorite pastime was helping others. Fiercely loyal to his friends, one could always count on him to lend a hand. He was just as eager to help out anyone he encountered.

Aaron is preceded in death by his grandmother, Lena Frances Ray; parents, Betty and John; as well as his beloved aunt, Patty. He is survived by his sister, Melody Koontz; many close friends, and a tight knit group of "brothers."

Aaron was taken too soon from this world, but those who were lucky enough to have had him touch their lives will always be better for it. A celebration will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

“OK, then.”

I always enjoyed working with Aaron at WisDOT. He was always friendly and professional. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing and my deepest sympathies are with his family and friends. Numbers 6:24-26 - May the Lord bless you and keep you; May the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

Aaron was my friend. I will remember him as a kind and generous person. He was a natural conversationalist who liked to cook and share the things he cooked with the people that he cared about. I remember him bringing the best soups to work. It was never just soup though. He would bring sides of cheese and crackers along with other garnishments specific to his recipe. He would always want feedback on what you liked or didn’t like (which was rare), and maybe how to make it better. He was a great guy and I miss him.

I worked with Aaron back at CACI. He was amazing. So compassionate. When I was going through my divorce, he took both my stepdaughter and my daughter under his wing and gave them the security and care two little girls needed. Bless you Aaron. Your smile is burned in my mind and heart. You will be so greatly missed by those you touched.

I worked with Aaron at WisDOT. He helped us support the implementation of a major computer application. Whenever we needed help understanding the inner workings of the WisDOT IT world, he was our guy. Always had a smile on his face, always had an answer for you. I will miss collaborating with him.

So very sorry to hear about Aaron. I met him through work at WisDOT and had quite a few laughs over the years whether it was during a meeting, in the hall, or after hours. A big spirit with a generous smile and a contagious laugh. He will be missed by many.
