Enjoying dinner with my grandpa at his senior living community center in January 2020! We will all miss my grandpa John so much. He was always honest and funny and had immense joy and pride over anything us grandchildren did. I am so grateful he was in NC close to us for his last couple of years. I will miss him dearly

Grandpa was the one of the best role models you can have in a grandparent. He was patient, kind, and gave the room a sense of presence whenever you were with him. In his last years we got to spend more time with him than we ever had, which was a great privilege. What I learned most from him was that time with those you hold most dear and sharing the love you have for them is what matters most. We will miss you Grandpa!
