Obituary
Madison - Randolph Wyatt Southern, age 70, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022. He was born on Dec. 30, 1952, in Boulder City, Nev., the son of Raymond and Marjorie “June” (Wyatt) Southern.
Randy was a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s ASI Professional Pilot program. He was united in marriage to Debra Palen in Milwaukee on Nov. 1, 1980. Randy then went on to receive a Certificate in Business Computer Programming from Milwaukee Business Training Institute (MBTI). He was working as a network architect for PNC Bank when he retired on Dec. 1, 2022. A member of Door Creek Church-Northside, he participated in several men’s groups including Alpha. He was a member of the Wisconsin Society Sons of the Revolution and EAA- Experimental Aircraft Association. Randy also founded Second Chance Computers - a very meaningful organization that helped and assisted many over the years, and in many countries.
Randy was known for his constant positive attitude and his love of helping others. In his free time, Randy enjoyed boating, antique cars, and motorcycling. He was a jack of all trades, who always wanted to stay busy.
Randy is survived by his loving wife, Debra; sons, James (Natalie Dickson) Southern and Nathan (Morgan Chadwick) Southern; sisters, Susan (Ed) Hawley and Cindy (John) Sheppard; mother-in-law, Shirley Palen; brother-in-law, George (Rebecca) Palen III; and sister-in-law, Terri (Tom) Grandlich. He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, George Palen Jr.
A memorial service will be held at DOOR CREEK CHURCH-Northside, 1181 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023, with the Rev. David Smith presiding.
