MADISON - Vidur “Pepe” Stenson, age 34, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022. He was born on Nov. 22, 1988, the son of Donald Stenson and Tricia Bailey. Pepe grew up in Steer Town, Jamaica.


Pepe came to the United States in 2015 to live with his aunt, Ellen. He was a kind and jovial person and was very caring and understanding.  He had the wonder of a child when he learned new things and played games. He loved eating home cooked meals and taking walks in nature, especially along the rivers. Pepe loved listening to rhythm and blues and dancehall music, drawing Japanese animation, playing video and animal games, and riding his bike. He loved his black very much and when he was asked for clarification, he said that it was his favorite color.


Pepe is survived by his aunt, Ellen Jessens; uncles, David, Douglas and Dean; sisters, Tateana Alvanique Watson and Jessica Stenson; brothers, Zidan Zidauni Watson and Yahkiney Oniel March; nephew, Zidauni Taequan Watson; longtime girlfriend and best friend, Nakesa McFarlane; and many cousins and friends worldwide.


Burial will be held at St. Ann's Bay Cemetery in Jamaica. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Vidur stenson (pepe)my BIG Brother he's very easy going,humble soul,caring,loving,displinary person,fun to be around,positive vybration every time he's around,he has a very unique sense of humor,can be goofy at times especially when he's dancing lol,great chef too,we like to watch is anime and we play video games together,he's also a very God fearing person read is Bible very often, attend prayer meetings we were very close,we having long conversations, we talked about everything he used to say even thou I'm a big man now I still show him a lot of respect and love as a little brother and I always called him big brother,when ever he's around you just feel safe,he always motivating me to never give up on my dreams as a recording Artist his key word was (Yuh TUFF Dj)i love you vidur stenson VERY MUCH,I MISS YOU VERY MUCH The whole family& friends is moaning my BIG BROTHER Mommy Heart is Broken I can't believe your not here BIG Brother R.I.P😭😭💔💔🕊🕊

Met stenson at age 15, proud to say he was my first love. Over the years we became good friends and always keep close. About a month ago I had a terrible dream and woke up crying and call him and told him he said am not to worry, nothing will happen to him. I've grown fond of his family and his mom is like a mother to me. My heart is breaking, I can't explain how much I miss him but only god knows. I just wish I could speak with him for one last time but death deprive me of that.

Vidur was the nicest, sweetest guy I’ve ever met. My best friend. My person. My heart is broken but he’s with Jehovah. He dedicated every Saturday to Kingdom Hall. He had a personal relationship with Jehovah. He loved playing video games, he loved children and He loved his family. One of my fondest memory is when I was struggling in school and he'd encourage me to stay faithful, don't beat myself up to take it a day at a time. I will forever cherish my happy moments and I will miss him dearly. Every day 💕 may his soul rest in perfect peace.

We first met Pepe when he rode his bike to the Kingdom Hall of the Monona Grove Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Madison, Wisconsin (USA). We would give Pepe rides to the Kingdom Hall when the weather was rainy or cold. We became friends and eventually Pepe started a Bible Study to draw closer to Jehovah. Pepe finished his study and attended almost every single meeting either in person or on ZOOM. Whether he attended in person, or on ZOOM, he frequently answered questions during the Congregation Bible Studies and other parts of the meeting which clearly showed his knowledge of the Bible and his love for his God, Jehovah. Pepe was looking forward to becoming one of Jehovah's Witnesses. We frequently talked about God's promise for a beautiful future here on earth where Jehovah's says in Revelation21:4 "...and death will be no more, neither will mourning , nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Pepe looked forward to that promise. We will see him again, perfectly healthy, with the opportunity to live forever on a paradise earth. We are grateful to have known Pepe and to have had him as a close friend. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his entire family.--Ron & Bev Anderson
