Marvin E Dunse

MADISON - Marvin Eugene Dunse, age 89, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on April 25, 1933, in Baraboo, Wis., the son of Ernest and Martha (Kapelka) Dunse.

Marvin graduated from Baraboo High School in 1952. He married Shirley Jenewein on March 22, 1958.  Marvin worked as a lineman for MG & E and was a member of the Brotherhood Electrical Union. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was honored to participate in the Badger Honor Flight.

Marvin was a Wisconsin sports fanatic. He loved being a fan of Monona home talent baseball. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing and hunting. He couldn't pass up playing cards. Marvin was a social butterfly and loved being a flirt and having his coffee at the VFW on Cottage Grove Road. Most of all he loved his family and adored his kids, grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughters, Cheryl (Richard) Liddle and Patti Balderas; son, David (Kelly) Dunse; grandchildren, Michael (Kendra) Dunse, Mitchell (Theresa) Dunse, Leandra Liddle and Lauren (Kyra) Givens; and great-grandson, Landon Dunse. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12 noon on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 11:50 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023.
