Obituary
BATTLE CREEK / OREGON - Donnis M. Kuver, 78, of Battle Creek, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022. She was born March 18, 1944, in Madison, Wis., to Edwin and Alladine (Hams) Ellis. Donnis graduated from Oregon High School in 1962. On Oct. 27, 1972, she married Fred Kuver who preceded her in death in 2014.
Donnis was employed at Rural Insurance Company for two years, then with Wisconsin Life Insurance Company where she met Fred. They moved to Battle Creek in 1972 where she was employed with Sullivan, Hamilton, Ryan & Schulz for 25 years. She then joined Kreis, Enderle, Hudgins & Borsos in 1998, retiring in 2015 as a Legal Assistant to Mark Kreter.
She enjoyed dancing, exercising, gardening, baking cookies and reading. She was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir.
Donnis is survived by her sister, Kay (Marshall) Barnes; nephews, Michael (Cindy) Barnes and Steven (Anna) Barnes; great-nephew, Gregory Barnes; great-niece, Jaclyn (Bradley) Johnson; three step-children, Fred (Michele) Kuver, Nancy (Ron) Bonanno and Beth (Randy) Foellmi; step-grandchildren, step-nieces, three grandnieces and a very special friend, Lynn Robinson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Maurice Lee Ellis.
A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023. Interment will be private at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Oregon, Wis. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
