Obituary
MADISON- Cathy Jean Edwards, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at her residence. She was the daughter of George and Jean (Schaub) Edwards. Cathy graduated from Edgewood High School. She continued her education at UW-Oshkosh and UW-Madison. In late 1969 at the UW Union Rathskeller she met her future husband, Gaylord Plummer, commencing a sometime off and on relationship that lasted the rest of her life. They lived together, bought a house together, married, and had their son in the years after 1978.
Cathy was a warm and caring woman, a creative cook and gardener, a talented artist and decorator, and a successful business woman working as a real estate broker for 42 years. Although sometimes private and difficult she was also a wonderful wife and friend who will be sorely missed by many whose lives she touched.
Cathy is survived by her husband, Gaylord Plummer; siblings, Terry Edwards, Michael Edwards (Sharon), Patrick Edwards (Lorraine) and Mary Heath; and cousin, Eugene Devitt. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rhett; sister, Amy; her aunt, Mary Devitt and Randy Heath.
Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 2950 Chapel Valley Road., Fitchburg, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022, until the time of the service at 12 noon with luncheon to follow at Gunderson.
