Obituary

MADISON - Sharon Lynn Fillnow, age 75, of Madison, passed away on Friday, Nov. 25, 2022. She was born on Oct. 6, 1947, the daughter of Wilbur and Peggy (Guess) Cox.


Sharon graduated from Crown Point High School in 1966.  She worked as an event manager for the University of Wisconsin for many years until her retirement.


Sharon enjoyed traveling with her best friend, Jerry. She was very artistic and detail oriented and loved doing all kinds of crafts. Sharon enjoyed being around people and getting to know others. Her neighbors became her extended family. Most of all, she loved being together with her family.


Sharon is survived by her sons, Terry Cox, Nick (Jennifer) Cox, Corey Cox, and John "Kip" Paul Reczek, II; seven grandchildren, Ashley Stroede, Savanah Cox, Sophie Cox, Elliott Cox, Clark Cox, Mckayla Cox and Sarah Cox; four great-grandchildren, Ravonte, Cailyn, Kaliyah and Violet; best friend, Jerry; and daughter-in-law, Susan Cox. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Wilbur "Bub" Cox.


Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 12 noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022.  Interment will be private.  Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

I am so sorry to hear this. We lived in one of the upstairs apartments for several years, and Sharon was always so sweet. I loved seeing the Christmas tree in the yard every year, and running into her at the store after we moved. She will be missed.
