POYNETTE - Robert J. Bender, age 69, of Poynette, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 24, 2022.
He was born on September 13, 1953, in Richland Center, Wisconsin, the son of Robert Bender and Doris (Geddes) Wipperfurth.
Bob was a 1971 graduate of Lodi High School.
He was employed with the Maintenance Dept. of UW-Madison until his retirement.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman who loved to spend his days on Lake Wisconsin, dropping a line, walking the woods enjoying nature, and hunting.
He is survived by his sister, Linda (William) Wild; his brother, Richard (Nancy) Bender; his nephew, Troy Wild (Tena), great nieces, MacKenzie (Alec) and Haley (Will), and great nephew, Braxton; his four-legged best friend, Skyler; and other relatives and many friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering celebrating Bob’s life will be announced at a later date.
