I knew Bob years ago from local political activities, and I had the opportunity to visit his intriguing hand-built home. The atrium of the home was amazing. I am so blessed to have witnessed a glimpse of his many talents.

I remember Bob with admiration and kindness. I worked at the Harlow Primate Lab during Bob's time there and he was always a friendly, kind man who I could talk with freely and openly. I saw him at Wisconsin Football games as he and I had season tickets. He is, and was a great man who will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. Steve Bruns

Bob was a brilliant and unique man, full of great ideas. I can still hear his voice from our many conversations across his desk at the Harlow Primate Lab. Bob gave me a chance and opportunity for research and was a pioneer in the early days of neurobehavioral toxicology. I am grateful for having known him and will value him highly always.

I have fond memories of Bob and am very thankful for a pivotal role he played in my career. I took his Physiological Psychology course (Psych 454) very near the end of my undergrad career. It was a perfect match for my developing interests in physiology, neurobiology and human behavior and led to a technician job in the lab of one of his colleagues in the department, Dick Keesey, which then led to graduate school and ultimately the rest of my career.
I took a seminar or two from Bob as a graduate student and got to know him better during that time and also became acquainted with others in his own lab and other groups at the primate lab which led to very enjoyable and productive collaborations. I was also able to join Bob and his family, along with Dick Keesey and others from the Psych Department on a couple of memorable ski trips to Colorado.
Bob’s unassuming friendship, advice and support are enduring memories for me.
