MADISON - Janis Y. Crandall, age 95, of Madison, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Oak Park Place. She was born on June 27, 1929, in Mondovi, the daughter of Ray and Georgene (Moen) Colby.
Janis graduated from Mondovi High School in 1948. She married James A. Crandall on July 2, 1949. She worked as a bank clerk for American Exchange for many years.
Janis loved being outside flower and vegetable gardening, taking walks with her many dogs, and going to garage sales. She was a charter member of the Madison Packer Backers and a season ticket holder for the Packers and Badgers football games. She was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
Janis is survived by her sister, Ruth Larson of Mondovi; niece, Nicole Anderson of Madison; and four generations of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents, Ray and Georgene; brothers, Robert and Michael Colby; and many dogs.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025, with Pastor Rok presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Burial will take place at a later date in Mondovi.
