COTTAGE GROVE - Daniel R. Breiby, age 60, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on March 26, 1962, in Madison, the son of Robert and Audrey (Repplinger) Breiby.
Daniel graduated from LaFollette High School in 1980. He married Andrea Gullixson on Nov. 12, 1988, in Deerfield. He worked as an electrician and was a member of IBEW Local 159.
Daniel loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed taking weekend trips and drives in his corvette, and being outdoors-having bonfires, launching fireworks and playing Euchre. Daniel was a master at the claw machine and his children and grandchildren were the proud recipients of his prizes. He enjoyed woodworking and building things with his hands, including the family home. He will be fondly remembered for his spaghetti dinners, strong work ethic and his great witty sense of humor.
Daniel is survived by wife, Andrea; two sons, Joey (Katie) Solem and Thomas Breiby; daughter, Courtney Breiby; two grandchildren, Olivia Solem and Hailey Kahl; brother, David Breiby; sister, Sandra Egner; two nieces, Jamie and Nicole; three nephews, Jason, Chad and Hendrix; brother-in-law, Jay Gullixson; and sister-in-law, Lisa Gullixson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Audrey.
A celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022.
