Obituary
MADISON - Alice Horstmeyer, age 86, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022. She was born on July 6, 1936, in Madison, the daughter of Stanley and Violet (Bram) Loper. She grew up on the family farm in Marksville where they raised short horns.
Alice graduated from Mazomanie High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to Russell Edwin Horstmeyer on June 11, 1960. She was involved in 4H and won Alice in Dairyland in 1955 where she would travel to many state fairs across the United States.
Alice was a proud survivor of breast cancer in 2011. She was very friendly and made friends easily. She and Russell enjoyed traveling in their younger years to Florida, California, Hawaii and to many beaches. Alice loved her family very much and they were very important to her.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Serena Renae (Michael Salerno) Kleinstub; son, Ryan Horstmeyer; six grandchildren, Kayden, Liam, Maya, Mikayla, Indigo Sky and Andrew; and brother, Daniel Loper. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Russell.
A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 12 noon until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022. A graveside service will follow at HOPE COTTAGE GROVE CEMETERY, County Highway AB, McFarland, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
