STOUGHTON - Richard Fellmer Ward - Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and cousin was born on April 7, 1942, in Rockford, Ill., and passed away suddenly on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022, at the age of 80, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, Wis.
Richard is survived and deeply missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Toni (Kuntzelman); son, Sean (Ruth); grandson, Noah; step-granddaughters, Laura (Tim) Blair and Ashley Schumacher; step-great-grandchildren, Tristan, Lilian, Jace and Gianna Blair; sister, Sharon (John) Halliday; cousin, Ellen (Mark) Capwell; and other relatives and friends. Richard was a Mechanical Engineer and Die Casting Manager in the manufacturing industry and worked for Barber Coleman, Amerock, Truth Tool, Madison-Kipp and Top Diecasting during his long career.
Richard had a love of model railroading from the age of 16 and spent countless hours working on his layouts. He and Ryan spent time working on real trains at the Illinois Railway Museum, and he participated in Cub Scout activities with Ryan as well. He loved visiting the mountains, especially Glacier National Park, and had many fond memories of spending time with family and friends at the family farm in Brantwood, Wis. In recent years, he enjoyed car shows with Sean and the 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T that Richard bought new and helped Sean restore. He took a few long road trips with Sean to bring home some new Mopars to restore. He made a really good Southern Comfort Old-fashioned. He loved to laugh and his greatest joys were his family and his dogs.
