Obituary

MIDDLETON - Mike Middleton, age 59, of Middleton, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022, at home. He was born on Sept. 22, 1963, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, to George Jr. and Dorothy (Schmidt) Middleton. Mike graduated from Middleton High School in 1983. He worked for The Bruce Company for 39 years. Mike loved anything Badgers sports. He had season tickets for several years to the Badgers Hockey games and enjoyed going to the games with his best friend, Pete. Mike also enjoyed watching the Packers.


Mike is survived by his mother, Dorothy; sibling, Richard (Jen) Middleton, Connie Cupp, Terry (Bobbi Lincks) Middleton, Karen (Barney) Foye, Darlene (Jack Flint) Middleton, Rita Middleton and Ronald Middleton; and brother-in-law, Roger Breunig. Mike is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his father, George Jr.; brother, Rickey Middleton; and sister, Mary Breunig.


A celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022. The family encourages guests to wear their favorite Badgers apparel.


Mike, you were gone before we knew it and only God knows why. A million times we will miss you. A million times we will cry. You showed great strength and fight thoughout the years as you were knocked down a few times, but you always beat the odds. This time you had no fight left. In life we loved you dearly. In death we love you still. Until we meet again someday, our dear Mikey.

Hey Mikey- I just found out today that you had passed. As you may have known, your big bro Richard & I have been working together (him at Bruce Co & me at Weed Man) for the however many years & when he stopped by the office today, I asked “How’s Mikey doing?” I felt so bad I didn’t know. From the early mornings down at The Farms digging trees for 7 years to the late nights at The Branch, ya always made me laugh. You were always helpful, kind, patient, and taught me how to do so much down there I never had before. Not just that, but I respected you & you gave me that respect back, even being the “new kid on the block,” my 1st year down at Sunset, Fahey, & Brown. Those Saturday mornings when we both regretted playing “Shot Wars” at The Branch the night before and having a tough Saturday…but then both going back for another night at The Branch on Saturday, I always knew I could count on laughing nonstop & having a blast. My deepest condolences to the family & to the countless friends who knew you, too. You were one of a kind, Mikey. I hope you’re at peace & free from pain of all types, too.
