It would take hours to retell and shared stories of wonderful, silly, serious, and unique times Karen and I shared during our 65+ years of "sister-hood". Those who knew her were enriched. And so I ask.. “Oh God, full of compassion, who dwells on high, grant true rest upon the wings of the Divine Presence, in the exalted spheres of the holy and pure … Therefore, may the All-Merciful One shelter her with the cover of His wings forever, and bind her soul in the bond of life. The Lord is his heritage, may she rest in his resting place in peace; and let us say: Amen.”

I am so very sorry to hear the sad news. I worked with Karen many years ago at a radio station and remember our political discussions because we agreed on very little at the time. My guess is that I evolved over the decades to more closely reflect her thinking. Also, we still have items in our house from her Kohler store. My best wishes to the family.....Clinton Messner, Sheboygan.

My deepest, heartfelt condolences to the family of Karen Quasius Mooney. I met Karen at North High - shortly after our family moved to the area. She was such an incredible and caring friend to me. Even though we totally lost touch for decades, I can remember two specific times in my life where she absolutely nailed it for me - totally said exactly what needed to be said for encouragement. She was absolutely amazing. MAY OUR GOD OF ALL COMFORT BE WITH YOU ALL. I AM THANKFUL TO THE LORD THAT I HAD THE HONOR OF KNOWING HER.

I knew Karen when I was Guinness's vet during his last few years. After his passing, Karen gave me a beautiful orchid and an eloquent note about how Guinness brought her comfort after her husband's passing, explaining that he was "the right dog at the right time." Karen had a thoughtful wisdom about her, and I couldn't help but think that, to many people throughout her life, she was undoubtedly "the right person at the right time."
In memory of her kindness, and with heartfelt sympathy to her family,
Mary Kuefler
