Carol A. Prescott

MADISON - Carol A. Prescott, age 94, of Madison, passed away on Friday, Sept. 30, 2022.  She was born on March 25, 1928, the daughter of Fred and Ada (Jacobs) Fankhauser.  She married Eugene Prescott on May 15, 1954.  

Carol was raised in the Woodford-Blanchardville area and graduated from Monroe High School. She then moved to Madison and graduated from Madison Business College where she acquired secretarial skills.  She was hired as an executive secretary for Mr. Kubly of Wolff-Kubly and Hirsig.  After she married, Carol stayed home to raise her young family.  She later returned to the career she loved working as an executive secretary for her brother-in-law, Maurice Bormann, of Bormann’s clothing stores.  She remained at Bormann’s until she retired in 1993.

Following retirement, Carol and Gene moved to Las Vegas.  They enjoyed many years together in Las Vegas, hosting family and friends visiting from Wisconsin.  Carol returned to Madison in 2018.

Carol is survived by her children, Carla Prescott, Cindy Campbell and Larry (Kelly) Prescott; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Gary) Walden; and sister-in-law, Elaine (Prescott) Bormann.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Gene.

A memorial service will be held at OLBRICH BOTANICAL GARDENS, in the Atrium, 3330 Atwood Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022.  A celebration gathering will follow until 1 p.m. on Friday.
