Jacob Adam Lewis

MCFARLAND - Jacob Adam Lewis, age 99, of McFarland, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, at his home. He was born on Nov. 19, 1922, in Dakura, Nicaragua, the son of the Rev. Isaac and Geraldine (Hunter) Lewis.

In his youth, Jacob spent much time traveling to the Cayman Islands to visit his grandmother. He completed his education in Jamaica. He married Doris Anderson and they were blessed with 78 years of marriage.

Jacob was a teacher who organized athletic programs in Nicaragua, and was also an accountant. Having escaped the revolution in Nicaragua in 1979, the family moved to New York City where he worked as an accountant for many years.

Jacob was a talented piano player and enjoyed music. He was active in churches in Nicaragua, at Grace Lutheran Church in the Bronx, and at Lakeview Moravian Church in Madison.

Jacob is survived by his wife, Doris; daughters; son-in-law, Dudley Law; brother, Gerald (Soledad) Lewis; grandchildren, Alexa Denise, Dennis (Jen Andrews) Law, Randall (Tianay), Sabina, Gabriel, Isabella, Alyna, Jude and Jace; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and relatives that he dearly loved. He was preceded in death by his son, Roy Randall “Randy” (Tania) Lewis; granddaughter, Alessandra Law; and siblings, Clarice, Isaac, Lucilla, Alda and Martha Lee.   

Private services will be held. Burial will take place at McFarland Cemetery.
