Larry F. Brackett

MADISON / PLAINFIELD - Larry Brackett, age 80, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022. He was born on Nov. 29, 1941, in Jefferson, Wis., the son of Frank and Lucille "Margaret" (Nehmer) Brackett.

Larry graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1960 and served in the U.S. Army. He married Donna Uphoff on March 11, 1967, in Madison.

Larry worked as an operating engineer and was a very proud member of the Operating Engineers Local 139 for over 49 years. Larry loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, spending time at his rebuilt family cabin, hunting (like a national holiday to him), fishing and attending auctions.

Larry is survived by his wife, Donna; two sons, Tylor (Angie) Brackett and Trent Brackett; grandchildren, Tylor and Emma Brackett; many step- grandchildren; two sisters, Pam Hudson and Karen (Dean) Short; special nephew, Duane (Beth) Davidson; and many other nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Donna Davidson and Kathy Buckley; and brother, Dennis Brackett.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12 noon on Monday, Oct. 10, 2022. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
