Obituary

COTTAGE GROVE - Robert L. Taylor, age 84, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022, at Drumlin Reserve Memory Care, with his loving family by his side. He was born on Sept. 10, 1938, in Milwaukee, Wis., the son of Wilbur and Alice Taylor. Robert graduated from Central High School in Madison. He married Suzanne Anderson on Oct. 15, 1960.

Shortly after high school Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army and then went on to school at MATC.  He worked for the Wisconsin DOT building highways all around Southern Wisconsin before retiring to enjoy his family and hobbies.  Robert was a very active member of his Model A club preparing the monthly newsletters and planning many tours as well as participating in many parades.   He enjoyed working on all cars and also teaching his children how to restore their cars but most of all he loved restoring his many Model A vehicles.

Bob enjoyed boating, his dogs, listening to his favorite music, watching Westerns, the Brewers and the Packers as well as spending time with family and friends.  He loved seeing his daughter’s horses, especially the foals born each year. He also enjoyed his trips to New York to visit his son and daughter-in-law and spending time with his three grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Tracy (Bill) Buglass; son, Gregory C. (Paula) Taylor; grandchildren, Joshua, Ashley and Christopher Taylor; sisters, Patricia (Dave) Kobe and Victoria (Challis) Wilson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife, Suzanne.

Private family services will be held. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park in Madison. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be gifted in Bob’s name to Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin.  Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

My family spent many great times touring behind Bob and Sue in the "A's". Wonderful people. We shared many conversations that always taught something. A well versed, true gentleman. RIP my friend, God speed. You will be missed. Grant Dupee & family, Mazomanie, WI.

Dear Tracy, I will never forget the first tour Fred and I went on with your folks with them leading the Model A's. We were new to the club, having just sold our beloved horses and bought the "A". (The Shay) They both made us feel so welcome and from then on we became fast friends. They were a light in the world. I miss them both and can't even imagine how you must feel. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Judie Heiman
