Sun Prairie - Kay L. Guild, age 52, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022. She was born on May 6, 1970, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Russell Meadowcroft and Louise Droster.

Kay graduated from Madison Memorial High School in 1989.  She worked as a paraprofessional at Lily Lake Elementary in Stillwater, Minn., before relocating to Sun Prairie.  She was a member of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.). Kay was truly a jack of all trades, and stopped nothing to be the greatest mother to her children. She never hesitated to lend a helping hand and make a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Kay is survived by her daughter, McKayla Rose Guild; sons, David Kent Guild and Luke Russell Guild; significant other, Greg James Sheil; former husband, Timothy Guild; sister, Dawn Selbrede; and brother, Steven Meadowcroft. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church, 3702 County Highway AB, McFarland, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, 2022. Burial will be held at Hope Cottage Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Gunderson East Funeral AND Cremation Care, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022.

My deepest condolences. It was great to reconnect over Facebook with your family after so many years. I always appreciated how much Kay appreciated my dad, who also died young. Same age as Kay unfortunately :( Life is not fair!!! She reached out to me to share with me a letter my dad wrote to her along with an old picture of him. It warmed my heart. Although we didn't hang out or anything, I loved seeing Kay's posts and updates over Facebook and we would chat briefly sometimes. My heart goes out to your family.

So very sorry to hear of Kay’s passing. Kay provided daycare for my children (Hannah & Hunter) for a number of years, she was terrific to my kids staying in touch with them through adulthood. My thoughts go out to Luke, David, and Makayla your mom will truly be missed Todd
