Pyng was one of my favorite teachers. He was so passionate and patient with his students. He made sure every student knew they had someone to talk to about anything.
He was one of those people that noticed when you were having a bad time or were off your game. He was also one of those people with the sense of humor to change that.
I can't believe this is real life. My heart goes out to his wife and kids. I hope they know how loved he was by the kids that showed up to art.
Rest in Paradise, Pyng. You, of all people, deserve it.

We always looked forward to conferences with Mr. Pyng because we knew he saw and appreciated our kids for who they were. Ethan remembers their morning coffee routine, "Don't move to California, Ethan." was very good advice. Elaina remembers Chicago and that Mr. Pyng insisted she go both semesters because, "Chicago!" Charles was not only a wonderful teacher but an even more amazing human. We are so blessed to have had him touch our lives. All our love, Mike, Michael, Ethan and Elaina Katzke.

I taught with Charlie in the Art Dept. at MG for a few years before I retired. I remember him being very popular with our students, smiling and laughing a lot with a positive outlook and always speaking fondly of his wife and children.

We send our condolences to the Pyng family. Max and Nina have touched the lives of so many teachers here at Winnequah and we grieve the loss of their beloved father. We will do our best to love on them during this terribly difficult time. All our love.
