Obituary

Madison - Tracy Lee (Peters) Persinger, age 59, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022. She was born on April 28, 1963, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Ralph and Carol (Knee) Peters.

Tracy graduated from LaFollette High School with the class of 1981. She worked at Econo Print and most recently as a bus driver for Badger Bus, where she truly enjoyed being around the kids who rode her bus.

Tracy donated her time crocheting hats for newborn babies at the local hospitals. She was a devoted mother to her children and enjoyed spending time with her family, as she cherished being a grandmother. Tracy was always thinking of others and would do anything for her family. She also enjoyed being outdoors and soaking up the sun.  She was a NASCAR fan and loved to travel; one of the best trips she ever took was to Hawaii.  She had a big personality, was larger than life, and was funny.

Tracy is survived by her daughter, Tiffani Liska; son, Joey Liska Jr.; grandchildren, Malachi, Brayden, Christian and Jalen; sister, Kimberly (Larry) Lawry; and cat, Peapod. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In keeping with Tracy's giving nature, she was able to donate her body to the UW Madison to help others learn about her acute myeloid leukemia.

Special thank you to the staff at the UW Carbone Cancer Center for all their loving care to Tracy. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

I went to school with Tracy. Far too young to be gone. I remember riding around in her car, many times, at lunch during school. I thought she was pretty cool. She always had a smile. I ran into her at the HyVee not too long ago. She remembered me right away. She still had a smile. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. Chris Kinney (McCann)

Tracy was my neighbor and good friend. I will always miss her, but I will never forget her. She had a big heart and wonderful personality. I had the privilege of taking care of Peapod while she was taking her dream trip to Hawaii. My nickname for Tracy was Tiger Momma. She loved tigers and she had an amazing fierce personality. Her family has my sincerest thoughts and prayers.
